Tree Felling Methods We Use

Not every tree can simply be felled in one piece. Depending on the location, size and condition of the tree, we select the most appropriate removal method:

• Straight felling — where space allows, trees are felled whole to the ground in a controlled direction
• Sectional dismantling (climbing) — trees are removed piece by piece from the top down by our qualified climbers, ideal for confined spaces near buildings, fences or other trees
• Cherry picker (MEWP) assisted removal — mobile elevated work platforms allow safe access to large or difficult trees without the need for climbing
• Crane-assisted removal — for the most complex removals where sections need to be lifted clear of obstacles, we work with crane operators to ensure safe, precise extraction

Dangerous Tree and Emergency Removal

Damaged, diseased or structurally compromised trees pose a significant risk to people and property. Our team is experienced in the safe removal of dangerous trees, including storm-damaged trees, trees with significant decay or structural failure, and trees in precarious positions over buildings, roads or power lines.

We also specialise in the removal of trees affected by Ash Dieback (Hymenoscyphus fraxineus) - a serious fungal disease that has affected ash trees across Wales and the rest of the UK. Ash Dieback causes progressive die-back of the crown and weakens the structural integrity of the tree, making removal increasingly hazardous as the disease advances. Early intervention is strongly recommended.

Once the tree is down, we don't just leave you with a pile of timber and brash. We offer full site clearance as standard, with arisings chipped on site where possible, or removed and disposed of responsibly. Larger timber sections can be left cut to log length if required.
